At CDNIS, students benefit from a seamless IB continuum from Nursery to Grade 12, with the added advantage of a dual-diploma pathway in Grades 11 and 12 that leads to both the IB Diploma and the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

The IB’s emphasis on curiosity, global perspectives, and personal growth aligns deeply with our mission to inspire excellence, cultivate character, and empower engagement.

In the Upper School, the IB is further strengthened by our unique dual‑diploma pathway. While completing the MYP in Grades 9–10 and the DP in Grades 11–12, students simultaneously earn credits toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. This blended academic model - rare globally and unmatched in Hong Kong - ensures students graduate with two highly respected qualifications and the flexibility to pursue post‑secondary pathways anywhere in the world.

CDNIS also offers comprehensive information on our Ontario Secondary School Diploma. Families can explore this programme separately to gain a deeper understanding of the learning pathways and experiences that shape each student’s journey.

What Sets the IB at CDNIS Apart

A True IB–Ontario Dual Pathway

CDNIS is the only school outside Canada where students graduate with both the IB Diploma and the Ontario Secondary School Diploma, giving them multiple internationally recognised pathways to top universities.

An IB Continuum Experience

From Nursery through Grade 12, students experience a continuous IB ethos, supported by shared values, consistent approaches to learning and teaching, and a unified focus on conceptual understanding and international mindedness.

Open‑Access IB Diploma Programme

Every student is fully enrolled in the DP in Grades 11-12. CDNIS believes all learners benefit from the challenge and depth of the Diploma Programme, with differentiated support and personalised goals.

Exceptional Language Pathways

With a strong Chinese programme - including Chinese A for the IB Bilingual Diploma, multiple Mandarin pathways and an expanding bilingual track in the Lower School – students can achieve advanced language proficiency not available in many IB schools.

Proven University Success

CDNIS graduates attend highly selective universities around the world. The combination of DP external results and OSSD course‑based evidence strengthens applications across systems, including Canada, the UK, the US and Asia.

A Whole‑Child Approach Anchored in the IB Learner Profile

Well-being, character development, compassion and global citizenship are intentionally woven through all IB years – supported by homeroom structures, advisory programmes, service learning and experiential opportunities.

Wide Breadth of Subject Offerings

From theatre, film and music to computer science, design technology, environmental systems, global politics, and multiple mathematics pathways, the breadth of the DP at CDNIS is exceptional for a school of its size.
