Yearbook Distribution

The 2020/2021 yearbook was handed out to students on Friday, August 27. If your child ordered a yearbook but did not receive one, please let us know by Wednesday, September 8. If your child did not receive a copy of last year's yearbook and would like to be put on the waiting list for a spare copy, please complete the 2020/2021 Yearbook Waiting List form. Unclaimed yearbooks, if any, will be distributed once all students who ordered a yearbook have received their copy. An online version of the yearbook is also available behind the Parent Portal.

Current Contact Information

It is important the school has your family's current contact details on file. If you recently moved or changed your phone number, please let us know by updating your contact details in the Parent Portal. Once you log in, click on Family Profile (red box to the right of the screen). Under Family Information, you will be able to check the phone number the school has on file for you under "My Personal Contact Information" and your address will be listed under "Change Primary Address". You will be able to update these details by clicking on the "edit" button.

In celebration of our 30th Anniversary, we will continue the program and expand our sustainability partnership with Nespresso. We look forward to sharing more details on our new initiatives soon.

Prep to Grade 5 Curriculum Night

We will once again host our Lower School Curriculum Night remotely this year. This event will be for families with children in Prep to Grade 5 and will take place on Tuesday, September 7 from 4:45pm–8pm. Further details were shared in the email from Lower School Principal Mr Lief Erickson last week. Zoom links for each session were shared on Friday.

Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP)

The Measurement of Academic Progress (MAP) will be administered to students in Grades 3–5 this week. If you are new to MAP, there are two ways to learn more about what MAP is and how we use it here at CDNIS. The first is this brief overview for parents from NWEA, the people who created MAP. The second is by attending our parent Zoom session on Wednesday, September 15 from 8:30am to 9:15am. Meeting ID: 993 9194 0729 and passcode: 200776. There is no preparation necessary for the MAP assessment. If you would like to support your child, please encourage them to just do their best, make sure they have a good night’s sleep, and a healthy breakfast in the morning.

3-Way Learning Conversations

We will host our Prep to Grade 5 3-Way Learning Conversations on Thursday, September 23 and Friday, September 24 via Zoom. Prep to Grade 5 students will not attend school on these two days. Students in EY1 and EY2 will follow their school schedule as normal. For more information and sign-up details, please click this link.

Due to the Halloween celebration on Friday, October 29, this will be a regular school day (Day 3). Therefore all days thereafter have also been changed. Please visit the 2021/2022 Lower School Calendar for calendar dates.
