Halloween - this Friday!

No one does Halloween like CDNIS. This year, we will celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 29. All students are encouraged to come to school in a costume as long as it does not prevent them from participating in regular school activities. As always, do not wear a costume excessively frightening and scary to younger students and do not bring toy weapons as costume accessories. Lots of fun activities will take place from costume competitions to special Halloween treats in celebration of our 30th anniversary. And while parents are not able to join us on campus this year, we will share a video highlighting Friday's festivities with our community next week.

School Uniform

Please be reminded that as the weather becomes cooler, students are expected to wear CDNIS-issued sweaters/jumpers/school jackets. Students will be asked to remove non-CDNIS issued clothing worn between 7:50am-3:55pm. Items can be purchased online with the Uniform Shop. Details are also available in the Parent Portal.

Timberwolves Season 2 Information and Tryouts

Timberwolves Season 2 is just around the corner, with some awesome new programmes. Alongside our prestigious season 2 sports, basketball, tennis, ball hockey, touch rugby and rugby kicks off as well. To our rugby family, join coaches Laurent and Kayla, and enjoy this true authentic local game. Details can be found by visiting: 2021/22 Timberwolves Season 2 Sports Information and 2021/22 Timberwolves Season 2 Athletes Participation Agreement Form (compulsory). Tryouts take place October 25, November 1 and 8 and the season kicks off November 9. Participation, Enjoyment, Success.

DDD Funds

Thank you to all who participated in our most recent DDD. The Lower School raised $13,508 with the money being split between four charities: Room to Read, Kids for Kids, Plastic Free Seas and Feeding Hong Kong. While the Upper School collected more than 500 non-perishable food items for Cooking for a Cause and their charity.

Redress Clothing Drive

Give your clothes a second life. Participate in CDNIS x Redress Clothing Drive 2021. Take this opportunity to get rid of unwanted adult and children's clothes/fashion accessories! Please wash the clothes before placing them in our donation boxes located on the 3/F, 6/F, 7/F and 9/F from October 25-29.

Poppy Drive

Remembrance Day is coming up and CDNIS will commemorate this historic day on Thursday, November 11. We will take time during the day to remember those families who have been affected by war. Poppies will be distributed to students and we will also be collecting money to support elderly ex-service personnel in Hong Kong and Canada who are struggling financially and in need of financial and medical assistance.

EY1 and EY2 Learning Conversations

These will take place on Friday, November 5 and Monday, November 8. Early Years parents will have the opportunity to meet their child's teacher (via Zoom) to discuss the year so far. You should have received a sign up sheet from your child's teacher. Please note that there is no school for EY1 or EY2 students on either of those dates. School continues as normal for Prep to Grade 5. If you have an EYs car sticker you may still drop off your older child on those two days.

Box of Hope

The Lower School is once again proud to support the Box of Hope drive, to provide presents and smiles to disadvantaged young people this festive season. Students are asked to complete the boxes at home and drop at the 9/F near the guard station between November 1-5. More information on what to put in boxes is listed here. This is a great activity to reflect on and be gracious for all we have and to take action to help others. Teachers will be given stickers to distribute to label boxes soon.

Student Council Bear House Book Donation Drive

Student Council are gratefully accepting donations of gently loved books for their Bear House Book Donation Drive. These books will go to students in low income areas in Hong Kong who can't afford to buy English books. Put your books in the CISPA book bin outside the 9/F during November.
