Digital Learning

The Learning and Teaching Technologies (LTT) Department is tasked with supporting the development of the vision and the implementation of technologies at CDNIS. The LTT Department works across the community to help manage the complexities of navigating through the technology initiatives at CDNIS. The core of their work is helping teachers and students meet the goals of both our CDNIS Digital Learning infusion and IB mission statements. The department works directly with teachers and students to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to infuse technologies into both curriculum and instruction and provides teachers with multiple strategies and opportunities for professional development throughout the year.

As part of our commitment to infuse digital technology to enhance teaching and facilitate learning, all Lower School students have regular access to iPads and MacBooks, with students in Grades 4 and above managing their own laptop as a personal digital learning device and students in Grade 1 utilizing their own iPad. Students from Pre Reception to Grade 6 use educational technologies to effectively and purposefully create, communicate, collaborate and engage in critical and reflective thinking. Students are supported in the responsible use of technology through our digital citizenship programme. Our aim is to provide students with the skills and knowledge to become responsible, independent digital citizens. All teachers use digital resources to engage students in authentic and relevant learning experiences. This and the use of digital media have a strong curriculum emphasis. A comprehensive teacher learning programme and at-hand support for students and teachers strengthens the teaching and learning possibilities.
