HOS Coffee Morning

Join Head of School David Baird for a coffee on Thursday, September 21 at the Starbucks located at Alexandra House, Shop 201, 2/F, 16-20 Chater Road between 10am-11:30am. Coffee on him!


Project Innovate Parents Coffee Morning

The Project Innovate Parents Coffee morning will be held at the LLAC Lobby from 7:30am-8:30am on Tuesday, September 26. Members of the Senior Leadership Team and faculty will share details and answer questions about Project Innovate. Coffee and pastries will be served! No sign-up is needed, just drop by the LLAC after you've dropped off your children.

Timberwolves Volleyball International Invitational

This Friday/Saturday/Sunday, CDNIS will host its annual Volleyball tournament. Teams from China and Myanmar compete against the best local and international schools. This is a great opportunity to engage locally and globally through sport. Make sure you check out the draw. All members of the CDNIS community are encouraged to cheer on our TWolves teams and welcome visiting teams. If you can't make the event, watch on the live stream.


Mid-Term Camp - Sign-Up Today

The ASA Department will run the Mid Term Holiday Camp on October 3, 4 and 6 for ages 4 to 12. Check out Major League Sports Academy's kindergarten sports camp and football courses! Timba Swim School will be back as well as gymnastics and this Summer's popular Friends for Life Programme. Please visit the ASA website for more details. The programme is open to both CDNIS and non-CDNIS students.


Season 2 Sports Schedule - Draft Form

The Season 2  Sport season will run November 6-February 15. Tryouts for most sports take place November 6-10 - tennis is earlier on October 9. For all Timberwolves details including the sports, teams, tryout times, regular game times and practice times, make sure you visit the Timberwolves website.


Winter Clothing for Laos Experience Week Trip

The Laos CAS Week programme is seeking donations to take with us for the community we will be visiting. Ideal clothing items should be suitable for cold weather, for example sweaters, or something similar, and winter jackets. Please, no thick jackets and shoes as they will be too difficult to pack, and no baby clothing is needed. Donations may be dropped off in the 9/F lobby area. On behalf of the Laos community we are helping, thank you.


Application Deadline for 2018/2019 School Year

Please note the application deadline for Pre Reception to Grade 2 has been brought forward to Saturday, October 14, 2017 for 2018/2019 school entry. Admissions assessments for the aforementioned grades will begin in December of the preceding school year for applicants who successfully apply on or before October 14. Please contact the Admissions Office via email or by phone (2240 6363) for further assistance or information.


Golf Day - Register Now

Last year's Golf Day proved to be a great success and we're pleased to announced that it's coming back again this year! The CDNIS Annual Golf Day will be held at the Shek O Country Club on November 21, 2017. Entrance to this event starts at $5,000 for individuals and $25,000 for teams of four. Interested parties can click here to register for the event. Details can also be found on our school website. Enjoy a great afternoon of golf and all skill levels are welcome.


Fever Free Policy

CDNIS strictly enforces the Fever Free Policy, as recommended by the Centre for Health Protection. Therefore, students who are sick or feverish should not be in school whether or not they are wearing a mask. Pre Reception to Grade 2 students should be fever free for 48 hours before they can resume school. Grade 3 and above students should be fever free for 24 hours before they can resume school. Please note that for students who are not sick and choose to wear a surgical mask to school as a preventative measure (allergies, immune disorders), our school staff will not be expected to monitor the correct wearing of their mask. Please contact the nurse with questions.


ID Cards For New Parents

New parents are reminded to pay a visit to the Library in order to get their photos taken for their ID card. For safety and security reasons, parents are required to wear their ID cards at all times whenever they visit the CDNIS campus.  


No School - have you marked your calendar?

Just a reminder that students do not come to school during the following days: Mid Term Break (October 2-6) and Monday, October 9, which is another PDD for staff. Please mark these dates on your calendar.


CISPA hiking group

Every Monday during school term, weather permitting, the CISPA hiking group will go out walking. We generally meet around 8:30am at various locations and hike different trails followed by an optional lunch. New members are always welcome! If you would like to join, please contact Anne Leckie on Whatsapp number 9688 2755.


CISPA Meditation Classes for Parents

3-Way Learning Conversations

3-Way Learning Conversations will take place September 28 and 29 for all Grades 1 to 6 students. Early Years Parent Workshop

Pre Reception, Reception and Prep are using Seesaw to document their learning journey. Seesaw gives students a platform to capture and reflect on their learning and provides parents a window into their children’s learning process. To learn more, parents are welcome to join us on Wednesday, September 27 from 8am-9:10am in the LLAC Lobby. Come and learn about the purpose of portfolios, role of parents and how to access their portfolio. Lower School Dress Down Day: September 22

Due to 3-Way Learning Conversations on September 29, our next DDD is September 22. Cost to dress down is $20, with donations being made Room to Read on behalf of Bear House. The theme is: dress as your favourite book character.

Grade 11 Parent Night - Follow-Up

Last week, all Grade 11 Parents were invited to the LLAC Lobby to learn about the IB Diploma, the OSSD, and the various ways in which we support our students through success in their final years at CDNIS. Led by US Principal Tim Kaiser and DP Coordinator Joe Holroyd, the team also included TOK Coordinator Chris Tyrell, EE Coordinator Myrna Holm, VP Academics Dave Butler and Head of Guidance Catherine Irvine. Brown University and University of Pennsylvania

On Monday, September 18 from 6:30pm-8:30pm, German Swiss International School (GSIS) will host a public presentation by Brown and UPenn for Grade 10-12 Hong Kong students and parents. Parking is limited so shuttle bus service will transport participants to Central following the presentation. To register (required), please complete this form.

CDNIS Panel Presentation on U.S. Women's Colleges

CDNIS will host a public presentation on U.S. women's colleges, Tuesday, September 26 from 7pm-8:30pm in the LLAC lobby. Grade 9-12 students and parents are invited to come and learn about the unique learning opportunities available to women at these outstanding small liberal arts colleges. University of Toronto Scholarship Information Sessions

Join one of the upcoming University of Toronto information sessions for future students with financial needs. Sessions about scholarships (CDN$13,000 - CDN$55,000 per annum, renewable each year) will run: Thursday, October 19, 7pm at HK Central Library; and Saturday, November 11, 10am at Admiralty Centre. Details and registration.
