We have been increasing our security protocols at the school. Not only is this to ensure we are in good shape for our IB/CIS visits, but most importantly, to ensure effective safeguards are in place for our students. Please take a moment to read David Baird's letter about Security ID badges and Student Pick-Up Cards, which will come into effect Monday, November 6. Families which require a guardian pass must fill out this form before their helper/driver/grandparent has their photo taken.
IB Evaluation Visit
On November 6-8, the International Baccalaureate will send a team to evaluate the implementation of all three IB programmes at CDNIS. An important part of this visit is an opportunity to meet with parents to discuss the IB at CDNIS. For more information and to sign up, please click here. The 2017 Terry Fox Run HK is on Saturday, November 4 at Renaissance College in Ma On Shan. We are hoping for big support from CDNIS this year! There will be 3, 5 and 10km distances. Terry Fox is a heroic Canadian who ran 42km a day for over three months to raise money for cancer research. Today, over $750 million has been raised worldwide in Terry’s name. Please note the show might not be for all due to the mature themes involving puberty, hormones and teenage angst! Habitat for Humanity is excited to announce that our annual fundraising event will take place from November 6 to November 10. Here are videos of the event from previous years. New pricing! The Upper School student-run Business Club is looking to order new merchandise, but first they need to clear out their current stock. Prices have been slashed on all items - compact umbrella ($150), pennants ($20 or $10), drawstring bags ($50 or $70) and presentation folders ($10). Order your items here. Payment can be dropped off at the 9/F office. Items will be delivered to homerooms.
Center for Talented Youth, Johns Hopkins University
Center for Talented Youth, Johns Hopkins University, conducts an extensive university-based Talent Search worldwide by offering above-grade level testing for grades 2 through 8. Join us for our Halloween celebration on Tuesday, October 31. Students from Pre Reception to Grade 12, staff and parents are encouraged to dress up! It's never too early to plan your costume, but please remember that our school is "weapons-free" in terms of costumes and related props (i.e. no swords, knives, etc). We also request that you are mindful of the use of "gore" and scary costumes. Check out some of the costumes from last year right here!
Second Term School Tuition Fee Deadline
The 2017/18 second term tuition fee is due on Tuesday, October 31. Invoices are posted to the Parent Portal under NetClassroom>Billing. For any parents who wish to pay the tuition fee through direct debit arrangement, please take a moment to fill out this Direct Debit Authorization Form from HSBC. Any inquiries can be directed to our Accounts Department.
CISPA - Join the Hiking group
Every Monday during school term, weather permitting, the CISPA hiking group will go out walking. We generally meet around 8:30am at various locations, and hike different trails followed by an optional lunch. If you would like to join us, please contact Anne Leckie or via Whatsapp number 9688 2755.
CISPA - Welcome Committee Cycling Day Trip: From Shatin to Tai Po
Please join us on this easy (flat!) dedicated bike path from Shatin to Tai Po on Monday, November 6. We shall rent bikes in Shatin and cycle to Tai Po, a distance of approximately 14km (2 hours cycling). Please contact Clare if you would like to come along.
