Reaching Out, Touching Lives
The foundation of any successful school is the close bond shared between students and teachers. With their commitment of learning from one another and a passion for making a difference, the CDNIS family is achieving excellence all around the world! This week, we talk to ex-CDNIS student Maya, who is now pursuing her dream in ballet at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy. To learn all about it, read this article and watch this video.
CIS/WASC Parent Survey - Closing May 3
We need your help! Having your input is extremely important for the success of our accreditation Self-Study. If you have not yet completed the Endicott Survey, please consider using 15 minutes of your time for this valuable part of identifying areas that are strengths of CDNIS and where we can improve. While both parents are welcome to take the survey, we ask that at least one parent per household participate in the survey which will be open until Wednesday, May 3. You may find the survey at www.endicottresearchcenter.net and the code is CNP2017205. For more information, please see the letter sent by Jon Adams two weeks ago. If you have any questions about the CIS/WASC Accreditation process, please email Jon Adams.
Just a reminder that outside tutors are not permitted to tutor on the school premises. If you have any questions about the school's tutoring policy, please refer to page 51 of the Parent Information Handbook available on the mobile app under CDNIS Brochures and the Parent Portal. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Parent Liaison Committee
This is the second year since the Board of Governors re-established the Parent Liaison Committee (PLC). The PLC is a multi-stakeholder Committee, comprised of Governors, Parents, and School Administrators. The PLC serves as a communication channel between parents and the Board of Governors. To contact the PLC, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
New OneDoor Website and Support System
OneDoor is introducing a new website and support system. Find answers, articles and updates on onedoor.cdnis.edu.hk. Need help? Send us a request at email@example.com. The new support portal allows us to identify trends, collect data, and most importantly, serve you better. Engagement tells us where technology is needed most, allowing us to resolve issues quicker. Better yet, you can now use your parent Google account (@cdnis.hk) to login. Try it now at support.cdnis.edu.hk.
Ordering School Lunch
The May-June lunch order forms and menus are available on the CDNIS mobile app under Contacts-CDNIS Brochures-Cafeteria. Please contact Maxim's directly for more information.
Maxim’s Chef Station Special
Maxims will be hosting a "Chef Station" promotion throughout the month of May, which will see the caterer serve up a Japanese dish every week. The first week of the new month for instance, will feature a Japanese Pork Cutler Curry special. For more information about meal choices, check out this poster.
Environmental News: Green Monday and Foodlink
Maxims, our food services provider, continues working with Green Monday and Foodlink. Foodlink, an NGO, delivers leftovers of certain foods from our cafeteria to local charities, thereby reducing food waste and feeding the needy. In March, CDNIS contributed 99kgs toward this effort. Green Monday, held on the second and fourth Monday of each month, aims to improve personal health and the health of the planet by serving only non-meat-based foods.
