Reaching Out, Touching Lives
The foundation of any successful school is the close bond shared between students and teachers. With their commitment of learning from one another and a passion for making a difference, the CDNIS family is achieving excellence all around the world! This week, we're highlighting some the fun activities and events that CDNIS students can look forward to during the upcoming Chinese New Year celebrations.
Students To Remain At Home When Ill
In view of the current cool weather in Hong Kong, we have noticed an increase in the number of ill students coming to school. To safeguard health of our school community, please do not send your child to school if they are feeling unwell, especially if their temperature is 37.5 C or higher, or if they have cough, runny nose, diarrhea or rash. Many thanks for helping us maintain a safe and healthy environment at CDNIS.
We at SCOPE would like to welcome all students! The latest SCOPE bulletin includes short stories, visual art, creative non-fiction and music album recommendations by our Upper School students. Check out the latest issue right here.
Celebrate with us as we welcome in the Year of the Rooster. Parents are welcome to attend our CNY Concert Dress Rehearsals (January 24 at 2:45-3:45pm). Everyone is also encouraged to participate in our DDD January 23-26 for the LS and January 26 for the US. And you don't want to miss the CISPA CNY Flower Fair on Tuesday, January 24.
Lunar New Year Holiday - No EDD
Just a reminder - Thursday, January 26 is a regular day, so students will be dismissed at their normal time. Please note the CISPA calendar incorrectly marked this day as an Early Dismissal Day - January 26 is not an EDD. The holiday period runs January 27-February 6 for students, with classes resuming Tuesday, February 7. Gong Xi Fa Cai!
Ordering School Lunch
The February Menu and Lunch Order Form are available on the CDNIS mobile app under Contacts-CDNIS Brochures-Cafeteria. Due to technical issues, parents can only order lunch via paper form (cut-off date - January 23). Maxim's apologizes for any inconvenience caused. The paper ordering for January meals is open until January 26. You may also order meals for a few months or a whole year. Please contact Maxim's directly for more information.
Parent Coffee Morning - CIS/WASC
This week, CDNIS is hosting members of the CIS/WASC accreditation team as part of the initial visit. On Wednesday, January 18, Interim Head of School David Baird, CIS/WASC Accreditation Chair Jon Adams and CIS/WASC officials will host a Parent Coffee Morning to discuss the CIS/WASC accreditation process. Parents who wish to attend may RSVP here. If parents have any questions on how the process works in school that they would like to see addressed on the morning, please enter them on the form or touch base with Jon Adams.
Applause for a Cause
Applause for a Cause - February 24, 7pm, LLAC Auditorium. Softball - CDNIS Parents Softball Team
SEASAC Boys/Girls Softball Teams play their SEASAC competition in late March. However, we don't have a local league. We're organizing a mixed softball competition with a staff/parents team(s) and the SEASAC Boys/Girls Team; great preparation for our SEASAC event. Games March 7/14, 4-6pm @ HKU Sandy Bay. If you'd like to join the Parents team, please complete this form. Dads/moms/alumni welcome.
