School Photos

All students should have brought home school photos before the Winter Break. If your child did not bring their photos home, please contact your child's homeroom teacher. f you would like a digital copy of your child's photo, require a re-take, or if your child did not have their photo taken and you like to have their individual photo taken, please email Techni-Photo directly to make the arrangements. Please note that photos will be taken at Techni-Photo's studio in Kowloon.


Yearbook Cover Contest - One Week to Go!

Our Yearbook Club is holding a schoolwide competition for Yearbook Cover 2018. The title this year is "Year of the Dog". There will be a prize for the winner! For more information, please see this poster or email Iris Chang. Deadline is Monday, January 8. You may email your submission or pass a digital file/hard copy in person in Room 519 or 929. Looking forward to receiving your submissions. CNY Festivities

We are busy preparing to welcome the Year of the Dog. Celebrate with us! Parents are welcome to attend out CNY Concert Dress Rehearsals (dates/times TBD). Everyone is encouraged to participate in our DDD February 12-14 for the LS and February 14 for the US. And you don't want to miss the CISPA CNY Flower Fair on Tuesday, February 13. Watch this space for details.


CDNIS Monopoly

We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the CDNIS bespoke Monopoly game, which is set to arrive before Chinese New Year. There is still time to order your game. The CDNIS Monopoly game features a totem pole, maple leaf and even Timba as tokens. Choose your token, place it on GO! and roll the dice as you make your way around the board which features the amazing CDNIS facilities. But don't get stuck in traffic along Nam Long Shan Road or you will be late for class. Games cost $400 each with proceeds going to the Annual Giving Campaign. Order your game today before it sells out!


Ordering School Lunch

Just a reminder the menus and order forms are available on the main school website - About Us - School Brochures. Parents can order lunch by filling out the form and dropping it off, with payment, in the 6/F Cafeteria or by mail to CDNIS.


Sports Opportunities for Lower School Students

Starting in January, all Lower School students have the opportunity to join new sports teams. U12 Rugby, U12 Netball, U12 Touch Rugby, U10 Basketball, Gymnastics and the Swim team all have places for Grade 4/5/6 students. For tryout dates, practices times and game schedules, view this document, or for more information visit the Timberwolves Site. In February/March U12 Football, U12 Badminton, U12 Track and Field and Lower School Sailing will start.


Alumni London Reception

Calling all alumni currently in the London area. CDNIS will host a reception in London on Wednesday, January 17. Details will be released shortly on the CDNIS Alumni Facebook page. Or contact Alumni Coordinator Chris Niem for details.


CISPA - Engage with Innovative Technologies

On Thursday, January 25 parents get to explore and experience technologies at OneDoor. Test and learn about Virtual Reality, laser cutting and 3D printing. You can also learn how we can improve daily lives with iOS App Development. Date: Thursday, January 25. Venue: OneDoor. Time: 4:30pm-6:45pm. Light refreshments will be provided. There are seats for 30 adults. Contact Joey Wei to reserve your place early.


CISPA - Call for Volunteers for the Chinese New Year Fair 2018

We will welcome in the Year of the Dog at the annual Chinese New Year Fair, which will be held on Tuesday, February 13. We need volunteers to help with games, food stalls, flower/plants and merchandising sales. Please sign up here. Questions? Please contact Amy Ng or Anita Shum.


CISPA - Used Uniform Donations

Please continue to donate your used uniforms, which can be left at 9/F Security Desk. More sales in 2018. New uniform transition starts April 2018, CISPA/USSC shall continue to collect used uniform items that will eventually no longer be part of uniform. These items shall be modified and donated to local Hong Kong school (or neighbouring provinces).


CISPA - Healthy Body Healthy Mind 2018

Need ideas for snacks and family meals? Join Lower School parents Mrs. Jenny Lee and Mrs. Alison Brock on Thursday, January 11 to for a pot luck morning tea to explore ways to improve our health through diet. After all, a healthy body is a healthy mind. It would be great if you can bring along something healthy to share. RSVP.


CISPA - Mindfulness Practice for Parents

Lower School News

Learning Reviews (Grades 1-6 only)

Learning Reviews will be held on Thursday, January 18 (3pm-6pm) and Friday, January 19 (8am-4pm). Student attendance is mandatory. January 19 is not a regular school day for Grades 1-6. Young Americans - Coming in January 2018

Attention Grade 6 parents. We are very excited to host the Young Americans from January 8-10, 2018. Watch this space for further details as you do not want to miss the very exciting final performance. Check out the exhilarating final performance from last year to see why we are so excited to welcome this troupe back in January.


School Uniform in the Winter

Please be reminded that as the weather becomes colder, students are expected to wear CDNIS-issued sweaters/jumpers. Students wearing non-CDNIS issued clothing between 7:50am-2:20pm will be asked to remove it.

Upcoming University Visits

The following universities will be visiting CDNIS in the near future. All visits will take place in US Guidance (5/F) unless otherwise noted. January 8 at 4pm - Imperial College London, King's College London, School of Oriental and African Studies, University College London. January 18 at 2:45pm - Chinese University of Hong Kong.


University Tour - USA - Spring Break

The US Guidance Team is happy to announce two university tours to the USA (one to California and one to NE USA). March 31 - April 7. These tours are aimed at G9-12 students and there is a maximum of 20 place on each tour. For details please see our Facebook page.


Procedures for Reference Requests

When requesting references to summer school programmes, boarding schools or any other organizations, please use this online form. School policy is to use CDNIS reference material exclusively. The timeline for a referral is 10 working days and requests received within two weeks prior to a holiday period will be processed after the holiday. If you have questions, please contact your child’s counsellor directly.
