Tonight: Christmas Cheer with Senior Admin

Parents are invited to join our Senior Leadership Team tonight for some Christmas cheer. It will be for parents only (no children please). The event will be held at Wahtiki Island Lounge @ 3/F, Sea Bird House, 22-28 Wyndham Street, Central (a block behind behind Mark's and Spencer) from 6pm-7:30pm. RSVP here. See you tonight.

Upper School Winter Concert

The US Music Department is pleased to present the Winter Concert on Friday, December 8, 7pm-8:30pm. Featuring the musical talents of: Symphonic Winds, Wind Philharmonic, Game of Tones (a capella), Grade 8 Band and Stage Band. Shuttle bus service between Wong Chuk Hang MTR station and the school runs from 6pm to 7pm. Tickets are available at LLAC Box Office and from the music teachers. CDNIS Monopoly

Get your limited edition CDNIS Monopoly Game! The CDNIS Monopoly game features a totem pole, maple leaf and even Timba as tokens. Choose your token, place it on GO! and roll the dice as you make your way around the board which features the amazing CDNIS facilities. But don't get stuck in traffic along Nam Long Shan Road or you will be late for class. Games cost $400 each with proceeds going to the Annual Giving Campaign. Order your game today before it sells out! Games will be delivered before CNY.

Class of 2018: Early Offers to Universities

Timberwolves Update

Congratulations to the B20 Boys Rugby team who were crowned champions of the HKSSF A Grade 7 aside Rugby over the weekend. Visit the Timberwolves website for all the details.

ASA Session 2 Registration

Get in on the action. Registration has already begun. Check out our new classes including photography, and Reception gymnastics! The CDNIS ASA Programme is open to both CDNIS and non-CDNIS students. Visit the ASA website for all the details. Registration via the Parent Portal will close on Wednesday, December 13.

Yearbook Cover Contest

Our Yearbook Club is holding a school-wide competition for Yearbook Cover 2018. The title this year is "Year of the Dog". There will be a prize for the winner! Ordering School Lunch

Just a reminder the menus and order forms are available on the main school website - About Us - School Brochures. Parents can order lunch by filling out the form and dropping it off, with payment, in the 6/F Cafeteria or by mail to CDNIS.

Parent Liaison Committee

This is the third year since the Board of Governors has re-established the Parent Liaison Committee (PLC). The PLC is a multi-stakeholder Committee, comprised of Governors, Parents, and School Administrators. The PLC serves as a communication channel between parents and the Board of Governors. CISPA - Home of Love

With the Season of Giving upon us, please donate basic essentials to help Home of Love, a local organization which cares for needy families in Hong Kong. Donations being accepted include basic essentials, e.g. blankets, nappies, hygiene products and non-perishable food items. Donations can be placed under the Christmas Tree on the 9/F until December 12.

CISPA - Mindfulness Sessions

All parents are invited to join in mindfulness sessions with Susan Hargreaves, which takes place weekly every Friday from 8:15am – 9:30am. Location is 21 Wong Chuk Hang Road, with onsite parking available. Please contact Lucia Delvita to sign up or get more information.

CISPA - Christmas Brunch at Home

To flavor the beautiful Christmas atmosphere, the CISPA Board invites parents to gather for a brunch this Wednesday, December 6 starting at 11:30am at Lucia's place. Learning Reviews: Mark your Calendars

Please note that Grades 1-6  Learning Reviews will be held on Thursday, January 18 (3pm-6pm) and Friday, January 19 (8am-4pm). Instructions for signing up online will be sent to you by email on January 5.

Winter Sing-Along Live Stream

The Winter Sing-Along will take place on Tuesday, December 12. A live stream of one of the performances will be available for the school community to enjoy. In order to protect privacy, the broadcast will be password protected. The link and password will be emailed to all Lower School parents this week. Please check your CDNIS parent account for details later this week.

Young Americans - Coming in January 2018

Attention Grade 6 parents. We are very excited to host the Young Americans from January 8-10, 2018. Upper School News

Gr 12: Final Deadline for University Applications

The final deadline for submitting all university applications (with the exception of studio arts/architecture programs requiring portfolios, and applications to Australia) has passed, which was December 1. Students who have not submitted all their applications must meet with their guidance counsellor immediately, if they have not already done so.

Upper School Parent-Teacher-Student Discussions

The online booking system for Parent-Teacher Discussions will close on Tuesday, December 5 at 12noon. Subsequent requests for conferences can be placed through Mrs. Dilip Sandhu, the Upper School Principal's Secretary. Parents are also reminded that this year students are expected to participate in all discussions and should join parents at the event.

Procedures for Reference Requests

When requesting references to summer school programmes, boarding schools or any other organizations, please use this online form. School policy is to use CDNIS reference material exclusively. The timeline for a referral is 10 working days and requests received within two weeks prior to a holiday period will be processed after the holiday. If you have questions, please contact your child’s counsellor directly.

St. George's University Medicine and Vet Medicine Session

St. George's University (UK) will present an info session about their Medical and Veterinary courses on Saturday, December 9 from 2pm-5:30pm. For information about the programme and to register, visit this site.

SCAD Spotlight Day

Join SCAD Hong Kong for a day of faculty-led interactive workshops SCAD Spotlight Day on Saturday, December 9 from 2pm-5pm. Learn more about the university’s art and design degree programmes and academic environment, and meet one-on-one with SCAD admission representatives. Register here to attend.

Where to for Summer 2018?

The past two summers saw a small group of Grade 9-12 students participate in an eco-expedition with Operation Wallacea to Sulawesi, Indonesia and Cuba to support terrestrial and marine ecosystem research with global scientists and university and high school students.  This year, the research trip (~17 days in June/July) will be to either Fiji, Madagascar or South Africa. Gr 10: InterQuest Assessment Results

Results for the InterQuest assessment, which all Grade 10 students sat in October, are in the Upper School Guidance Office. All Grade 10 students should have attended one of four info sessions last week in which they were shown how to interpret the results, and received their test booklet. Students who did not attend a session, and therefore did not receive their test result book, should see their guidance counsellor.
