Reaching Out, Touching Lives
The foundation of any successful school is the close bond shared between students and teachers. With their commitment of learning from one another and a passion for making a difference, the CDNIS family is achieving excellence all around the world! This week, we learn all about the experience that several of our Upper School students had last month, when they taught art to the children in Prep. To learn all about it, read this article and watch this video.
This Week - Evening of the Arts
Get ready for a magical evening, as CDNIS proudly presents "Evening of the Arts" on Thursday, April 6 at 7pm. The event will take place in the LLAC Theatre, featuring musical performances by the CDNIS Stage Band, Concert Band, Wind Philharmonic, Symphonic Winds, as well as the LLAC Lobby, which will showcase the grade 9/10 Visual Art Exhibition. Admission is free and tickets are available at the Box Office.
Update: University Offers
In late February, the Upper School Guidance team shared a list of universities that had extended offers to members of the Class of 2017. Not surprisingly that this list has grown over the last five weeks. This current list is continuing to change as April 1-2 was a big weekend for USA school admissions decisions. Congratulations to our students and thank you to our staff and parents who have been so supportive.
Parent Liaison Committee
This is the second year since the Board of Governors re-established the Parent Liaison Committee (PLC). The PLC is a multi-stakeholder Committee, comprised of Governors, Parents, and School Administrators. The PLC serves as a communication channel between parents and the Board of Governors. To contact the PLC, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.

CDNIS Equestrian Team in the Interschool Equestrian Challenge Finals
Good luck to our Higher Division Equestrian Team who qualified in 2nd position for the Inter School Equestrian Finals on April 22. For a full report and some incredible photos of the team in action check out the Timberwolves website. There is nothing like a feisty horse standing up on his hind legs in the middle of the Dressage section to build resilience and composure in our riders.
ISSFHK Track and Field Championship Report - TWolves Gold/Silver/Bronze
CDNIS hosted the recent ISSFHK T&F Championships at Siu Sai Wan Stadium. 21 schools and close to 1000 athletes took part. We had a strong team of 83 TWolves athletes from Grade 4-12. We also had a super team of coaches and CDNIS staff leading the organisation. Ordering School Lunch
The April to June lunch order forms menus are available on the CDNIS mobile app under Contacts-CDNIS Brochures-Cafeteria. Please contact Maxim's directly for more information.
Lost and Found - Valuable Items
Please stop by the 9/F office this week if you have lost a valuable item. A number of items have been turned into the 9/F office including iPhones, wallets, watches, glasses, Kindles, Octopus cards and more. If you or your child has lost anything of significant value at school, office staff might have it.
Traffic and Safety
We work hard to make CDNIS a safe environment. Since there is no public parking at CDNIS and no parking along Nam Long Shan Road, we encourage students/parents to use the school bus or other public transportation. But if you do have to drive, please refrain from honking your car horn, please follow the directions of our security guards/police, please do not block neighbouring driveways and please do not make 3-point turns along the road. Thank you for your cooperation.
Please take a moment to review the school's weather policy. School closures are communicated via the main school website and mobile app. The weather policy can also be found in the Parent Information Handbook (pg 46) and on the mobile app under Contacts - Brochures - Weather Policy. Additional information is also listed on the EDB website.
